Are you interested in the training?  Do you think you have what it takes?  Check us out at www.joplinmo.org for more information about Joplin.

Current members of the Joplin Fire Department can access this site to enter training requests in one convenient, online form.  Links to videos and material content for monthly lesson plans are found within just a few clicks.   For those of you from the outside looking in; take time to learn about what it takes to be a firefighter.  It’s NOT for everyone.

For those of you who have made the transition into this great Fire Service; know and continually study your profession, and let what you do here be second to none.  Don’t practice until you get it right; practice until you can’t get it wrong!

Our philosophy is to “hire attitude…..train skills”.  If you put your hard work in to learning the techniques, policies and procedures handed to you, all you have to do is fill in the experience.  Put all this together……..YOU STILL HAVE TO TRAIN and continually learn about what you do.

The Fire Service is one of the most dynamic engines you will ever be a part of.  There is no tellin’ what you are going to find burning in a home; in an atmosphere you will ultimately have to enter and battle if this is the life you choose.  Find courage and bravery with intelligence.
